World of Outlaws visit Lakeside Speedway in 2019 on October 18

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will visit Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., again in 2019, on Friday, October 18. The date will coincide with the NASCAR weekend at Kansas Speedway, which is less than 10 miles from Lakeside Speedway. The event will mark the 10th consecutive season that the series has competed at the track and the 20th time overall, dating back to 1980.

This past season, Daryn Pittman was victorious at Lakeside Speedway, which marked his second victory at the track, but first since 2003. Brian Brown scored a very popular win at Lakeside in 2017 in front of his home crowd.

Brad Sweet won at Lakeside for the first time in 2016. Schatz was victorious at Lakeside Speedway in 2015. That win marked the first for Schatz at the venue. Madsen won at Lakeside Speedway in 2014, while Daryn Pittman, the 2013 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series champion, won back in 2003.

This past season, Donny Schatz claimed his 10th World of Outlaws championship on the strength of 22 wins. Brad Sweet finished second in points and racked up a career-high nine wins, with David Gravel in third, Pittman in fourth and Shane Stewart in fifth.

Logan Schuchart, who won two races in 2018, was sixth in the standings, with Sheldon Haudenschild, who had five victories in seventh. Ian Madsen, the 2018 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award, winner was eighth in the standings, with Brent Marks, who won three times, in ninth and Kraig Kinser in 10th.
