This Friday, August 21, at Lakeside Speedway is Metro Pawn and Metro Metals Night featuring A-Mods, B-Mods, Stock Cars, Pure Stocks, E-Mods and Grand Nationals in weekly championship racing.

Last week’s Janet Billings Memorial produced some outstanding events and a full field of cars in the pits. This weekend’s action is expected to follow suit with the drivers competing in preliminary heat races and main events in all divisions.

Tyler Hibner continues as the points leader over Nic Bidinger in the A-Mod division while Tim Shields has a whisker-thin margin over Brett Heeter. Patrick Royalty's advantage over Luke Nieman in the B-Mods is even tighter with just five markers separating the pair. In Pure Stocks, Garry Billings Jr. holds a 39-points advantage over Marshall Jewett.

Three drivers are neck-and-neck in the battle for the E-Mod track championship. Rodney Schweizer is six points ahead of Steven Makar and Trevor Hand is just 19 points out of first place. Meanwhile, four competitors are within striking distance of the Grand National crown with Darren Kling in front followed by Don Marrs and Donnie Brown—both a mere 28 points out of the lead—and Marshall Jewett who sits 58 points back of the leader.
