Karl Tinsley Memorial pays Pure Stock winner $500 Friday at Lakeside Speedway

The late-season specials for race divisions continues this Friday, September 11, at the Lakeside Speedway as officials honor engine builder Karl Tinsley with the Karl Tinsley Memorial which pays $500 to win the Pure Stock main event.

Drivers will compete under the Mo-Kan Pure Stock Rules.

Karl Tinsley Memorial payout: 1. $500, 2. $300, 3. $275, 4. $250, 5. $225, 6. $200, 7. $175, 8. $150, 9. $130, 10. $120, 11. $110, 12. $100, 13-24. $75. Non-qualifers get $50. All total, the purse is $3,435 an the entry fee is $25 for non-registered Pure Stock drivers. There is no entry fee for the track's registered drivers.

Joining the Pure Stocks will be A-Mods, B-Mods, Stock Cars, E-Mods and Grand Nationals for a full night of racing on for Season Championships and the final night of points.

Tyler Hibner leads Nic Bidinger by 60 points in the A-Mod division, Tim Shields is 8=73 markers clear of Brett Heeter in Stock Cars, Patrick Royalty holds a 52-point lead over Luke Nieman in B-Mods. All four points leaders can claim the track championship in their class simply by taking the green flag in their main event this Friday.

Garry Billings Jr. is 51 ahead of Marshall Jewett in Pure Stock rankings, Rodney Schweitzer leads Trevor Hand by 51 in the E-Mods and Darren Kling leads Don Marrs by 48 points the Grand Nationals. With bonus points awarded for heat race performance in these three classes, 2020 season titles are still up for grabs but solid efforts by each of the points leaders should be good enough to lock up these crown as well

Advanced tickets for this weekend’s racing are available at myracepass.com or by calling call (913) 299-9206. Terrace spots are available but must be reserved by calling the track in advance. For anyone wishing to watch the Friday races from the privacy of their own home, head over to the all-new pay-per-view feature at lakesidespeedway.tv.

Pit gate opens at 5 p.m., spectator gate opens at 6, drivers meeting at 7, hot laps begin at 7:15 with racing to follow. A limited number of tickets will be available at the admission gate. All pre-sale ticket sales are cut off at midnight on Thursday. Terrace Spots are available but must be reserved by calling the track in advance.

• General Admission: Adults (16+) $12, Military/Seniors (62+) $10, Juniors (12-15) $6, Kids Under 12 FREE.
• Terrace: Adults (16+) $15 Military/Seniors (62+) $12, Juniors (12-15) $8, Kids Under 12 FREE.
• Suites: Adults/Teens (13+) $20, Kids (2-12) $10, Kids Under 2 FREE.
• Pit Passes: Adults/Youth (7+) $35, Kids Under 7 $15. Ages 0-17 must have signed minor release to enter pits

The makeup event for Kids Night and the Weld Memorial featuring the USAC Midwest Wingless Sprints takes place the following Friday, August 28. Lakeside Speedway is currently seeking volunteers and donations for the kids' activities. Donations should be items that school-aged children can use for school, hero cards and race pictures, and other items that toddlers up to age 12 will enjoy. • Oct. 30 – 5th Annual Grant Junghans Memorial featuring USRA Modifieds and USRA B-Mods.
