(Kansas City, Kansas) This Friday, June 11, features the return of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series featuring A-Mods, B-Mods, Stock Cars, Pure Stocks and Grand Nationals.
The weekly racing standings have tightened up after last weekend’s action. In the A-Mod division, Nic Bidinger holds a slim one-point lead over Justin Johnson with Randal Schiffelbein just 15 markers behind. Terry Schultz holds a 15-point lead over Mark Schafman in B-Mods. Don Marrs has a slim three-point advantage over Marshall Jewett in Pure Stocks. Kacey Shields and Dennie Belknap are tied at the top of the Stock Car standings while Darren Kling holds a six-point lead over Jason Park in Grand National competition.
Last Friday was a rough and tumble night for the stock car division with some cars requiring extensive repair work. Rather than rush drivers or put added pressure on them preparing their cars for the annual ‘Gary D Memorial,’ stock car special event, Lakeside Speedway officials have decided to postpone the event with a makeup date to be announced.
On Friday, Pits Open 5PM, Grandstands Open 6PM, Driver Pill Draw Closes 6:45PM, Pit Meeting 7PM, Hot Laps 7:15PM and Racing begins at 7:45PM (or immediately following hot laps).
Ticketing and admission information follows: General Admission: Adults (16+) $15, Seniors/Military $12, Juniors (12-15) $5, Under 12 FREE, Suites: Adults (13+) $20, Kids (2-12) $10, Under 2 FREE, Terrace: Adults (16+) $15, Seniors/Military $12, Juniors (12-15) $5, Under 12 FREE. For Suite and Terrace availability call (913) 299-9206. Pit Pass: 7 & Older $35 • Under 7 $15. Minors 17 and under must have signed Minor Release to enter pits.
For those unable to make it in person, you may watch the event live via pay-per-view by pointing your web browser to www.lakesideSpeedway.TV. Once on the website, in the top left area of the page next to the Lakeside Speedway logo, click on “Upcoming Live” and from there select the event from the menu that appears and follow the payment prompts and questions. The fee is $19.99.
