KANSAS CITY, Kan. (April 17, 2026)—The third annual Hasty Bake Charcoal Grills Kansas City Clash will have to wait for a different day as Mother Nature has put a dampener on the barbecue. With multiple forecast models calling for severe weather including damaging winds, large hail, and potentially powerful tornadoes, Friday’s race has been called off in the best interest of safety.

The event will be made up on Friday, Oct. 9, with all pre-purchased tickets valid for that date when Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing returns to Lakeside Speedway.

Lakeside resumes April 24: The Nextran GMC Championship Series will be in action next Friday, April 24, withe firewroks in the sky to accompany the fireworks on the legendary high-banked dirt oval.

On-track action will feature the Schweizer Performance USRA Stock Cars and Show-Me Whitetails USRA B Mods both competing for track, regional and national points in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series. The Pied Piper Termite & Pest Control Pure Stocks,, Deutz Power Center Midwest E-Mods and Happy Dad Roofing Vintage Cars will complete the five-class racing card.
