Myers, Smith stay perfect at Lakeside

Kerry Davis won the Show-Me Whitetails USRA B-Mod main event.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (May 8, 2026)—On Friday at Lakeside Speedway, the Nextran GMC Championship Series saw Kacey Shields of Kansas City, Mo., Chris Dishong of Atchison, Gene Claxton of Kansas City, Mo., Jaylen Wettengel of Topeka, and Rodney Schweizer of Kansas City led the top five in the USRA Stock Car feature.

In the USRA B-Mod main event, Kerry Davis of Parkville, Mo., took the checkered flag. He was followed by Darrion McLaughlin of Excelsior Springs, Mo., in second and Tim Karrick of Basehor in third. Jake Richards of Lansing and Darren Shaw of Lawson, Mo., rounded out the top five finishers.

The Pure Stock feature was a family affair at the front of the pack, as Joseph Smith Jr. of Kansas City claimed the win over Nicholas Smith, also of Kansas City. Kaelob Jones of Effingham finished third, while Don Marrs of Shawnee and Marshall Jewett of Gardner secured the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

Corey Myers of Atchison dominated the Midwest E-Mod feature to take the victory. Jeff Degroot of Basehor followed in second, with Vic Tranckino of Basehor finishing third. Tobin Bartlett of Atchison took fourth and Devin Dultmeier of Silver Lake completed the top five.

Dillon Raffurty of Kansas City, Mo., led a sweep of the top four positions by the Raffurty family in the Mod Lite feature. Justin Raffurty of Kearney, Mo., finished second, followed by Michael Raffurty of Kansas City, Mo., and Jeff Raffurty of Holt, Mo. Tyler Furrell of Belton, Mo., finished in the fifth position.

Lakeside Speedway will host the Joe Berry B-Mod Clash next Friday, May 15, featuring both the KSE Iron Man USRA Stock Car and USRA B-Mod Series. USRA Stock Cars will race for $1,500 to win while a top prize of $1,200 awaits the USRA B-Mod winner.
