KANSAS CITY, Kan. (May 23, 2026)—We were back in action for the Nextran GMC Championship Series returned with the Pied Piper Termite & Pest Control Pure Stocks, Deutz Power Center Midwest E-Mods, Vintage, Schweizer Performance USRA Stock Cars and the Show-Me Whitetails USRA B-Mods. Five different classes brought 59 cars into the pits all trying to park it in Nextran Victory Lane. Before all else would like to thank each and every fan, driver, crew member, safety equipment workers, and all staff at lakeside for coming out to support Lakeside to fire off their Memorial Day weekend.
Pied Piper Termite & Pest Control Pure Stocks had two heat races with the #25 Tim Billings and #20x Don Marrs showing the way to claim their heat race wins. Feature time would come around and Tim Billings in the #25 looked to have the machine to beat until his car would have a mechanical failure and would allow the #15 Eddy Noll to inherit the lead after he moved up four positions to claim the double checkered flag and park it in victory lane! #7 Marshall Jewett applied some pressure on Noll at the end of the race but he would settle into the second position. Rounding out the podium would be the #20x Don Marrs leaving fourth and fifth to be #64 Kaelob Jones and #56k Nicholas Smith.
Deutz Equipment E-Mods would take the track second and the #69x of Zach Boyd would win heat race one and the second heat race would belong to #21 Vic Tranckino. #51 Corey Myers has been the man with the target on his back as he has won four races in a row and it would be put to a stop as the #69x Zach Boyd would park that Rage Chassis in Victory Lane! The “Intimidator,” Corey Myers would come home in the second position and would still hold the points lead.#61 Jeff Degroot will round out the top three and continue to stay in the points battle. #28 Tobin Bartlett would have another solid run and come home in the fourth position and rounding out the top five would belong to the #5j Jeff Geopferich Sr, moving up five positions.
Vintage would be third on the list and #113 Jim Thorne would show the way in the heat race. Thorne would show great speed throughout the feature but at the half way point Don Marrs would figure out his fast #00k and get around Jim Thorne for the top spot. #54x Darrin Christy would claim the final podium position to add another top 3 to his resume. #71 Mike Lawless claimed the fourth spot at the checkered flag and fifth would belong to #42 Donnie Billings.
Schweizer Performance USRA Stock cars would put on yet another phenomenal show as the “White Knight” #42c Kacey Shields would continue his streak of solid runs and claim his heat race as well as the #16s Chris Dishong would win his heat race. Shields and Dishong would put on a clinic as they would have a battle that would be closer and closer each and every lap and with a caution with three laps to go. Dishong would have a great restart to beat out Shields for the top spot. #15 Eddy Noll would move up six positions to finish in the third spot pulling double duty. Fourth place would be another young gun #711 Dylan Holt and that would leave the fifth position to the #27 David Oxford.
Show-Me Whitetail USRA B-Mods would roll out last but not least as #214 Eric Spreer and #1k Tim Karrick would be their heat race winner’s. When their horsepower hit the track you knew it was going to be a good show as at the start of the race #57s Darren Shaw would have the early race lead and try to defend that top spot but Karrick would get around him to claim the checkered flag and in the mix would be the “Long Haired Bandit, Kerry Davis as he would steal second. Third place would be Darren Shaw in the 57 Motorsports car. Fourth place would be #1 of Kyle Henning and fifth would be a good run moving up three positions, #70 Micah Becker.
