March 30, 2019

Lakeside Speedway wishes to thank everyone for their recent thoughts and support regarding the unfortunate flooding situation. On Saturday, March 23rd, the speedway flooded due to a breach of a levee on the Missouri River.

Although water has consumed the majority of the property, as of this writing, the water receded, allowing us to access the property and assess damage. We anticipate an opening of the track on or around June 1st. This of course depends on many factors including spring weather and future developments up river and to our north and insurance processing.

At this time, we ask that you do not come out to the track, instead, please follow us follow us on our Facebook page and website for official updates and forthcoming information regarding speedway status and recovery projects. We ask for your patience during this time as we process through this and prepare for our exciting 65th season of competition … the dirt will soon fly again at Lakeside Speedway!

The planned two combined summer race series for Lakeside Speedway and Central Missouri Speedway are still on track and will feature A-Mods, B-Mods, Pure Stocks, and Mod-Lites during the June Top Dog Series. In August for the Top Gun Series, car classes include A-Mods, B-mods, and E-Mods. Over $20,000 is earmarked for the drivers between the two tracks.

In preparation for when the track reopens, drivers and fans may access track rules, the planned schedule and registration forms at www.lakesidespeedway.net. Potential race sponsors and business partners may contact (913) 299-9206.
