Kidís Night and E-Mod Explosion this Friday at Lakeside Speedway!

After a wildly successful re-opening last week at Lakeside Speedway with 113 race teams on hand, the venue is set to host week two of the season this Friday with Kids’ Night activities and the E-Mod Explosion special event! Classes this weekend include A-Mods, B-Mods, Stock Cars, Pure Stocks, E-Mods, and guest class Mod-Lites.

Friday activities for the youngsters includes free grandstand admission for kids 11 years and under. Kids will have a chance to participate in foot races on the track. In addition, kids may fill out a ticket with their first and last name and be eligible for winning bicycles and backpacks and each kid will receive a free Kool-Aid Burst courtesy of the tracks.

E-Mods will take the racing spotlight on Friday with the annual "E-Mod Explosion" special event. The race is guaranteed to pay $750 to the winner and E-Mod drivers also have a chance to win additional contingency prizes in the preliminary heat races. If 24 or more cars sign-in for competition in the E-Mod division, the race purse will increase and pay $1,000 to win. The scheduled payout for the race is: 1) $750, 2) $450, 3) $350, 4) $275, 5) $225, 6) $180, 7) $170, 8) $160, 9) $150, 10) $140, 11) $130, 12-24) $120. The 24-or-more cars payout is: 1) $1000, 2) $550, 3) $425, 4) $325, 5) $300, 6) $250, 7) $225, 8) $200, 9) $185, 10) $175, 11) $165, 12-24) $150. Tow money $50.

The pit area opens at 5, followed by grandstand admission at 6. The driver’s meeting takes place at 7:15, hot laps roll out at 7:30, with the first green-flag of the night flying at 8 o’clock. Admission information: Grandstands: Adults (16+) $12, Seniors and Military $10, Juniors (12-15) $6, Under 11 and under FREE. Terrace: Adults (16+) $15, Seniors/Military $12, Juniors (12-15) $8, Under 12 FREE. Suites: Adults (16+) $20, Juniors (2-15) $10, Under 2 FREE (limited availability). Pit Passes: Ages 7+ $35, 6 and Under $10. After week one, Top Gun Series point's leaders include Chad Lyle in A-Mods, Jake Richards in B-Mods, Jason Ryun in Pure Stocks, and Steven Makar in E-Mods.

The ‘Top Gun’ series takes place each race weekend in the month of August and runs for five weeks using an accumulative championship points system among competition at Lakeside Speedway on Friday nights and Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) in Warrensburg on Saturdays. Race divisions for the Top Gun series include: A-Mods, B-Mods, Pure Stocks, and E-Mods. Remaining Lakeside Top Gun Series Dates are August 9, 16,23, and 30. The coinciding remaining dates at CMS are August 10, 17, 24, and 31.

There is no driver registration fee for any of the participating car classes. For the revised schedule, we are making some slight modifications. Our weekly racing car classes for the 10-week schedule consist of A-Mods, B-Mods, Stock Cars, Pure Stocks, and E-Mods. Mod-Lites will run a limited schedule starting Friday, August 2, to Friday, September 6. Grand Nationals will also run a limited schedule.
