Lakeside Speedway Season Continues with Week Three of the Top Gun Series and Championship Racing!

Lakeside Speedway is set to welcome drivers and fans again this Friday for week three of the ongoing Top Gun Series and championship weekly racing. Throughout the night, drivers will participate in the racing program, which this week includes: A-Mods, B-Mods, Stock Cars, Pure Stocks, E-Mods, Mod-Lites and Grand Nationals.There is No Driver Registration Fee for any of the participating car classes other than pit pass and transponder rental.

The time line for Friday includes some slight changes, please be aware that Pits open at 5, Grandstands 6, Driver Pill Draw Closes at 6:45 (no passing points if late), Drivers Meeting moves up to 7, Hot Laps 7:15, and Racing at 8. Admission Info: Grandstands: Adults (16+) $12, Seniors/Military $10, Juniors (12-15) $6, Under 12 FREE. Terrace: Adults (16+) $15, Seniors/Military $12, Juniors (12-15) $8, Under 12 FREE. Suites: Adults (16+) $20, Juniors (2-15) $10, Under 2 FREE (limited availability). Pit Passes: Ages 7+ $35, 6 & Under $10 (minors 17 & under must sign release). 

Heading into Friday, Tyler Wolff leads the A-Mod track point standings after collecting two feature wins in a row. Nic Bidinger is second with Terry Schultz third. J.C. Morton has also captured two feature wins in a row and leads the B-Mod standings over Patrick Royalty and Sturgis Streeter. In the Stock Cars, Kevin Anderson and Tim Shields are tied atop the standings with Gary Donaldson in third. Shawn Burns leads the E-Mod division ahead of Buz Kaster and Steven Makar while Marshall Jewett continues out front Spencer Reiff and Wayne Brooke in the Pure Stock standings. 

Looking at the Top Gun Series standings heading into Friday, Spencer Reiff leads the Pure Stock contingent ahead of Darrin Christy and Marshall Jewett. Steven Maker holds a slim lead over Dakota Earls and Shawn Burns in the E-Mods while Patrick Royalty holds court over Sturgis Streeter and Jake Richards in B-Mods. The closest battle lies between the A-Mod drivers as Tim Karrick has a four-point advantage over Terry Schultz in second, Allen Lawrence sits in third. 

The ‘Top Gun’ series takes place each race weekend in the month of August and runs for five weeks using an accumulative championship points system among competition at Lakeside Speedway on Friday nights and Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) in Warrensburg on Saturdays. Race divisions for the Top Gun series include: A-Mods, B-Mods, Pure Stocks, and E-Mods. Remaining Lakeside Top Gun Series Dates are August 16,23, and 30. The coinciding remaining dates at CMS are August 17, 24, and 31.

The payout is based on five races at each track with the top 10 in each class receiving payout if they race at both tracks at least once. Payout is as follows. A-Mods: $1000, $800, $600, $500, $450, $400, $350, $325, $300, $275. B-Mods: $500, $375, $300, $250, $225, $200, $175, $175, $150, $150. Pure Stocks and E-Mods: $300, $225, $175, $150, $125, $115, $110, $100, $100, $100.
